My name is Ugwunna Ikpeowo and I hail from the West African country of Nigeria. I moved to the United States in 1982 at the age of eight, settling down in Long Beach, CA (yes, I still speak fluent Igbo). I did most of my early schooling in the LBC and graduated from Long Beach Polytechnic High School in 1992. This is the point where I brag about our famous alumni which include the likes of Billie Jean King (tennis), Tyus Edney '91(Sacramento Kings), Willie McGinest '90 (New England Patriots), Tony Gwynn (San Diego Padres), Chris Gwynn (San Diego Padres), Mark Carrier (Chicago Bears), and Snoop Doggy Dogg '90 (Da Dogg Pound). After Poly, it was on to the east coast for a change of scenery. I matriculated at Princeton University in the fall of 1992 and ended up majoring in Molecular Biology. Graduation came in the spring of 1996 and it was time for, yet, another move. In the fall of 1996 I took off for the Windy City, Chicago, IL to begin a year-long public service fellowship started by the Princeton Class of '55. I'm currently working at the Rush Primary Care Institute, a division of Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center. A synopsis of what I'm doing there can be found in my resume. After Project '55, I'll be working for a few more years before heading back to school. That's about it for now. Enjoy your visit to my site. | |||
